Two and one-half acres of woods are now permanently protected in College Point.  Conservationist Eileen Oltz made provisions for the land to pass to the Bay County Conservancy after she passed away in January 2016. A walking path was created and a sign dedicating the sanctuary as the "Oltz Family Preserve" had just been erected when Hurricane Michael came through in October 2018 and devastated the preserve. BCC is working to reclaim the property by clearing downed trees and debris. Volunteers are in the process of recreating pathways for the public to enjoy.
