DONATE LAND
Among its many goals, the Bay County Conservancy is deeply committed to preserving the green open space so critical to the health of our communities. When you donate land, you are preserving habitat and wildlife. The land is protected forever, for the enjoyment of everyone, and you may:
- Get a tax deduction, possible stretched over several years to maximize its value.
- Possible lower you estate taxes.
- Name the donated land for you family if you wish.
SELL THE LAND TO THE BCC AS A BARGAIN SALE
You can sell the land to the BCC for less than the appraised value and take a tax deduction on the difference
BEQUEATH LAND OR OTHER ASSETS IN YOUR WILL
A gift to the Bay County Conservancy in your will helps local people save local lands. Here’s how you can make a difference:
- Name the Bay County Conservancy – The Land Conservancy of Northwest Florida – as the beneficiary of some portion of your life insurance proceeds.
- Leave a gift of land or money in you will or trust
- Deed your property to the Conservancy now and keep the right to live on it for your lifetime (life estate). BCC can discuss any of these options further with you . BCC is non-profit. Donations are tax deductible
DONATE A CONSERVATION EASEMENT
A Conservation Easement is a contract between a landowner and the BCC that protects certain natural resources on the land. It allows the owner to keep title to that land and use it for purposes such as farming, tree farming and hunting. By removing the development rights, the owner is usually entitled to a tax deduction.
