Audubon Nature Preserve
Located in Panama City off State Avenue, this 30-acre wetland includes Doctor’s Pond which is encircled by cypress, sweetbay, and longleaf pine. Hurricane Michael did extensive damage to the preserve n 2018 and restoration efforts are underway. During normal rain conditions, this area is home to wood ducks, wading birds, turtles and other wetland species. The boardwalk and observation platform on the west side of State Avenue provide a short walk and a place for a picnic – or explore the nature trail that begins at the end of the boardwalk
